Brian Evans files Provisional Patent

May 21, 2004 -- Brian Evans has filed a provisional patent with the USPTO for an invention that will be used as a tool for marketing compact discs and other commercially released music, including concerts.

Evans has combined sports cards with CD's by having sports stars "trading cards" randomly inserted into CD's which are purchased at retail.

"I think it would be great to buy a say, Frank Sinatra album, and pull an autographed card from the likes of a Yogi Berra," says Evans.

"It brings the sports world into music they might likely have never heard, and vice versa. People will buy CD's just for the hopes of pulling a sports card," says Evans.

Evans has been in talks with Steiner Sports to work on a project together.

"It was just an idea at first, but I didn't realize it was something I could apply for a patent on, and the idea seemed cool," says Evans.
