ARTISTdirect and METALLICA PRESENT METALLIVISION: EXCLUSIVE BEHIND-THE

SCENES FOOTAGE OF METALLICA TO AIR IN 10 THURSDAY-

NIGHT INSTALLMENTS ON THE ARTISTdirect NETWORK

Series Premieres On April 13

Encino, CA - April 11, 2000 - Very few bands are as devoted to their fans as

Metallica, and they’re proving their devotion again with Metallivision, an

exclusive look into all things Metallica. Shot by Niclas Swanlund, a

long-time associate of the band, the 10 episodes that will appear on

Metallivision range from up-close interviews with each of Metallica’s four

members to “Career Opportunities,” -- interviews with Metallica’s crew, the

people who “create the mayhem.” There’s also a trip to the Museum of

Questionable Medical Devices with James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett, “Otto’s

Dream Day,” in which Otto, the ultimate fan, has his dream come true after

10 faithful years as a Metallica Fan. “Bring The Noise” focuses on the fans

that bring the noise to every show.

Beginning on April 13, a new episode of Metallivision will go live every

Thursday through June 21 at www.artistdirect.com/artisttv/metallivision.

Each of the episodes will be archived on ARTISTdirect’s “Artist TV,” a new

feature showcasing original broadband programming, including segments that

are exclusive to the ARTISTdirect Network (www.artistdirect.com).

“The Internet is about connecting us directly to our fans, and Metallivision

cements that connection. It’s an intimate look at what’s going on in our

world,” said Metallica’s James Hetfield. “As if getting backstage passes

weren’t enough, now the fans will get ‘up our asses passes.’”

Marc Geiger, CEO of ARTISTdirect, Inc. added, “Metallivision is precisely

the kind of content ARTISTdirect is striving for. It’s an all-access pass to

Metallica - it’s an opportunity to truly get inside the band. And that’s

what ARTISTdirect is all about - connecting fans and artists in a unique and

substantial manner.”
