GoGirlsMusicFest "Get Hip to Hep C" Concert Tour

Author by Anonymous

GoGirlsMusic.com and The American Liver Foundation are presenting the GoGirlsMusicFest "Get Hip To Hep C," a series of concerts across the country to raise awareness of Hepatitis C. This 2002 event is set for October 3 - December 8 and will take place in at least 20 cities from Los Angeles to New York.

Hepatitis C infects 1 in 50 American adults, is four times more prevalent than HIV, and is the #1 reason for liver transplants in the U.S. Eighty-five percent of those infected with Hepatitis C stay infected. Deaths from the disease are projected to triple in the next 10-15 years. The American Liver Foundation (ALF) is in the forefront of Hepatitis C Awareness.

GoGirlsMusic.com, the oldest online community of independent women artists, was started in 1996 to promote women in music. It's run by women musicians, for women musicians. This is the 3rd annual festival hosted by GoGirlsMusic.com and is dedicated this year to Hep C awareness because of the importance of getting the word out about this disease.

Kelly Zirbes, a member of GoGirlsMusic and the lead singer of the ALF SpokesBand Kelly’s Lot, brought these 2 organizations together after spending the last 2 years raising Hep C awareness. Kelly will travel across the states to host and perform at each concert. GoGirlsMusic.com has called upon some of their favorite group of artists and hard working coordinators to make this happen.
