Stonecake joins Feathergun to tour the American west coast

Stonecake is a three-piece band from Sweden that send their message through drums, bass, guitar and vocals. They have recorded four albums and toured north Europe throughout the nineties.

When Stonecake hit the Swedish music scene in the early nineties they were the edge of the new era of music and trends that took its origins from the 60's. When their smash-hit "Tuesday afternoon" came, it ruled the radio and the band received a Grammy award for best "newcomer”.

With roots both in the catchy melodic pop context and the psychedelic underground Stonecake established an own sound and gave birth to a performance that treats every gig with great respect. With the commercial treatment that the success brought Stonecake became a well oiled live machine that always make people stunned by all talent, nerve, charisma and the natural gift to catch the audience.

Since the band performed at the "International Pop Overthrow", that was held in Los Angeles in summer 2002 they received such great response that now Feathergun proudly includes the band for their fall tour.

Feathergun is a melodic rock band. Blending elements from classic rock bands such as Cheap Trick, ELO and the Beatles, these gentlemen have left their respective cubicles to serve up a modern day pop/rock vibe. Musical comparisons include Weezer, Foo Fighters and Jellyfish, with vocal styling reminiscent of Elvis Costello. Yet all comparisons fall short to embody the true essence of Feathergun. Feathergun introduces the terms 'Cubicle Rock' and 'Power Point Pop' to describe its unique sound, inspired by their days spent working in the corporate world.

Feathergun is the brainchild of Sam Lewis. Hailing from Chicago, Lewis moved to Los Angeles with a pocket full of sugar sweet pop numbers and a pair of beach sandals. Playing over thirty shows in support of their debut release “Music to Wash to” in the past four months, including the International Pop Overthrow and Wheat from Chaff festivals and a successful tour with New Jersey’s Copperpot, Feathergun has spent the last month recording the acoustic ep “Absent Runaway” due for a mid October release.

Feathergun Press:

"Without a doubt, one of the most rewarding (live) shows in LA…this is one (band) that you better pay attention to"

Jenn Cassie, LAmusicscene.com

"Feathergun is a breath of fresh-air to us work-a-day stiffs. Their music is made by and for the creative geniuses stifled amid the fluorescent light-shaded cubicle causeways that criss-cross corporate America. Cubicle Rock or Powerpoint Pop, whatever you call it, it's about kicking down the office walls and remembering what inspires you. Meanwhile, while you're doing that, Feathergun will continue tearing down the walls of the LA music scene."

MTV News, Los Angeles CA

"Lewis and company give you songs that stand up to repeated listens with the kind of real tight guitar/rock sounds not often heard these days (and perfect for summer)."

Gary Glauber, PopMatters.com / Fufkin.com
